Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her position as the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she is responsible to cover everything ranging from NASA and its newly created Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the growth and advent of tourism to space. Kristin is the daughter of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover, grew up immersed in the field. She spent five years working as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations. During that time, she also covered two impeachment trials for the president and the presdiential 2020 campaign, and two administration's attempts to control the pandemic of coronavirus. Kristin travelled extensively, both with the president and vice-president. She was even on a secret trip to Afghanistan together with Donald Trump. Prior to joining the network in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin's camera skills led her to found Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for corporate customers such as Uber Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. She and her husband, who is three years old, daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
